How to Write Funny Groom Speeches

March 28, 2012 by groom

Humor is an important element in any wedding party, and there is nothing that can kindle the flame than funny groom speeches. They are intended at lightening the mood in a party and letting the groom cherish the moment rather than put him to shame. It is the best way to cheer up the audience by capturing everyone’s attention. Cracking some jokes inside the room will not only make you feel relaxed, but will help the audience as well. But how can one go about this? Here are some pointers to help you.

As much as you want to amuse everyone in the room, it is advisable to keep it cool as you would not want to offend anyone. You should remember that this is a congregation of people from different age groups, sex and religion. So, finding something that appeals to everyone is very imperative. The speech should be affectionate and respectful to a large extent.

It is good to walk down the memory lane and bring out an insight about your first meeting or date. After all, the audience would love to hear about some affectionate and heartwarming events the two of you shared. However, do not go overboard. If there is something humorous you would like the audience to know, then ensure that the bride would feel comfortable with the same.

Do not let your emotions get control of you. Try not to be too anxious in a bid to make your audience laugh. It is advisable to feel relaxed, natural and to steer clear of exaggerations.

It is a wise idea to interject your funny jokes with some good jokes to avoid being monotonous. Using steady stream of humor in each word you speak will make your speech unpleasant. In order to relax the feeling, say some emotional things then throw in a few jokes. This will perfectly lighten the mood of the audience and make you fell relaxed as well.

Another good way to draw the attention of your audience is to keep it informal. Try and keep the audience engaged by talking as if you are old friends. Never make the mistake of allowing your speech to sound like a university lecture. This will make it loose humor, which is the intended purpose.

One of the best ways to spice up your groom speech is to maintain eye contact. Do not look down or sideways for too long as this will make the audience loose interest. It may also be a sign that your jokes are not funny or real. However, it is also not a wise idea to keep looking at one single person during the entire speech. This may make them feel nervous.

Weddings are memorable events that happen only once in a lifetime. In that regard, you should not only write a funny and unique speech but a memorable one as well. However, it can only serve the intended purpose if it does not embarrass or emotionally hurt anyone. If handled with great care, funny groom speeches can transform a wedding into an exciting event.

Groom Toasts – And my poem

March 24, 2012 by groom

The groom toasts is upon me today and today is the best day of my life, a day when i get to celebrate my love and declare my eternal love to the woman who has given me a reason to run from away from my bachelors den to my bliss of marriage. It has been years yet it is like yesterday when i met my beautiful lady and i knew there and then that she was the missing piece that have been looking for. Ladies and gentlemen today all of you will witness when i declare my love to her and i promise to be there for her in times of hardship and happiness.

when we are born we are surrounded by warmth and love from out parents and siblings, the kind of love that last forever and we keep on believing that they are the most important people in life. But has we grow up we realize that there is more powerful magnetic field between the opposite sex, especially from people who are not of our blood. Then one day i came to understand that there is something called love between family members and love between two people who compliment and treasure one another. Although i might have been experienced the childhood love there is no love like the one i am feeling today. It is the kind of love that you can offer your identity and personality just to be one who really matters.

I believe that if i was to be born again i would love to be the only person i am today just because of you my sweetheart. I thank God the parents of my bridegroom for bringing up the wonderful jewel and for agreeing to bless out union today. I believe that you cannot not pick a rose flower without being pricked, life is full of challenges and we have had our share of sunny and cloudy days but we managed to utilize both weather and here today we are standing two seasoned plants which grew together and shared every moment while supporting one another whenever the other felt like being washed away by wind, tide or drought. We can not forget to thank our family members, our parents, friends and community for they are the people who made us who we are today without your support and love we will not be here today. Even being brought up in the neighborhood and going to the same school was a lesson that shaped our lives in a way we cant describe in words but we can just say that we a grateful for you all. Today for the groom toasts speech i have a poem that i dedicate to my beautiful woman;-

Love starts
Like a rising sun
Cutting the darkness of loneliness
Bringing with it joy

Love is music
Tender to the heart
Those who understand its rhythm
Dance to it
And get to feel
The joy of loving

Love is a jig-saw
That needs a perfect felt love
And long-term arrangements
Because it has much to do with
Feelings than mere choice or chance
you are my perfect missing piece my love

Thank you all.

The first tip for the day is to make your wedding speech simple. Long boring speeches tend to make your audiences fall asleep and into boredom. So be sure to keep it short but meaningful. Avoid unnecessary clutter of words that are deep and hard to understand, it just makes your speech more distant and not personal. The simpler it is the more personal it gets and touching it is for the people you want to include in your speech.

Include the romance and the instances that you and your bride enjoyed and made you tie the knot. Try to pour in the funny moments as well, as this can make the crowd smile and remember the stories more vividly than an overview. Remember the more people that are involve in the story, like friends and family, the more they can relate to your love story.

Lastly never forget to say thank you in a cheerful and sincere way. Thank the father of the bride first, because he is the one that you owed gratitude for blessing your wedding. Thanks the bride family, your family, your friends and guest. Save the last thank you for your newlywed wife. Thank her for marrying you and you can add up how proud and honour you are in great details to make the crowd cheer you even more.

For miscellaneous thank you’s , you can say thank you for the event organizers, the people who made the event possible, the catering etc. this way even these people who are in no way related to the party but worked behind the scenes will have something to remember from your wedding party, do remember they too are part of the crowd.

Final tips for your groom wedding speech is be confident and be yourself. Practice out loud in the mirror or ask a friend, family or the best man to hear out some of the draft of the speech so you both can make alterations and edit out the portions that are not necessary.
